Overview
In order to act as Pilot in Command (PIC) of an aircraft carrying passengers, a pilot must meet certain requirements regarding their recent flight experience. If this operation is conducted at nighttime, additional requirements apply. This is done primarily to prevent someone who has not flown in a long period of time from potentially putting passengers at risk. It must be stated, however, that even though a pilot may meet the legal requirements for recency, it does not guarantee proficiency.
