Takeoff Performance Chart

Overview

In 14 CFR § 91.103 Preflight action., the FAA requires takeoff performance data to be determined prior to a flight. Takeoff charts are provided in several forms to allow a pilot to compute the takeoff distance with various flaps configurations or flap configurations. It is imperative that a pilot use the correct chart when performing such calculations. Operating on short runways with obstacles at the departure end without performing takeoff length computations is both illegal and dangerous.
