Overview
Situational awareness is the accurate perception and understanding of all the factors and conditions within the five fundamental risk elements that affect safety. Monitoring radio communications for traffic, weather discussion, and ATC communication can enhance situation awareness by helping the pilot develop a mental picture of what is happening. Situational awareness of the result of accurate perception of the situation, developing a thorough comprehension from that perception, and anticipating an accurate projection of where the situation is going to go.
